Video Business Course

LWP Practical Videography Course

Video Business Course

Learn how to actually make money doing video production. Become a freelancer.

In this course, I teach you all the things I know to make money with videography. That includes strategies to get clients, what to offer and how to talk to them.

Make money
doing what you love!

You’re passionate about creating videos and it’s your dream to do it as a freelancer? This course teaches you everything you need to know to make that happen!

Becoming a freelancer can be very hard. You don’t know how to get clients, how much to charge, how to justify your rates, what kind of videos to sell and how to organize yourself etc.

Not knowing these things can easily hold you back from even trying to make money doing what you love. And if you try, not knowing these can cause you to fail easily.

That’s why I created this course. Here you will find answers to all of your questions. You will also find 8 strategies to get clients – the biggest problem of most freelancers and businesses. So you know exactly what to do.

WHY SHOULD YOU LEARN FROM ME?

I work as a freelancer since 2015, providing video creation and web design services. So I’ve seen the business side of freelancing from multiple perspectives and I know what works and what not.

When it comes to video work, I did freelance jobs where I did the full video production (planning, shooting, editing & color grading), and especially since Covid started, I did video editing jobs for digital agencies as well.

During these years, I had lots of ups and downs. But I always made it work somehow. So you can learn from my experiences and mistakes.

The fact that I provide different services as a freelancer gives me a good overview of the industry and how you can combine certain services to come up with unique offers. That’s something that really makes my course special.

The Modules

#1 Preparation

Becoming a Freelancer is a huge step and it requires a bit of preparation. So in this module I give you my best tips on what you should do to prepare yourself and be productive. I also tell you what to sell and how videos work for marketing, so that you know what you’re talking about when you contact clients.

#2 Lead Generation & Sales

The most important thing as a freelancer is to constantly get new clients and projects. In order to do so, you need to learn how to generate leads (contacts) that you can then sell to. Sounds scary but my 8 strategies are actually quite easy to do. You’ll also learn how to talk to clients, create proposals, how to price yourself and how to get paid.ents.

#3 Content Marketing

It’s important to understand how content marketing works, both for yourself but also for your clients. Video is content, so you will likely create content for your clients. If you do it right, your clients will get good results, like sales and continue working with you.

But you can also use content marketing to market your own services. I’ll also show you how.

#4 No Money to Start?

Maybe you’re worried because you don’t have enough money to buy all the gear to shoot videos for your clients. Let me tell you, there is nothing to worry about.

I have a simple strategy that I use by myself all the time that always ensures, you get the money to get the gear you need.

(No, it does NOT involve credit cards or going into dept in any way!)

#5 How to Free Up Time and Make More Money

Having more free time, while making more money sounds good, right? After being in business for a while, that’s absolutely realistic because as a freelancer/business person you have many options to free up time and increase your revenue. In this module, I show you how.

#6 My Favorite Business Tools

There are a lot of tools that make your daily business tasks easier. Here, I prepared a list with all my favourite apps.

#7 More Business Tips

At the end of the course, I talk generally about thinks that I learned during the years that help you be successful. Definitely worth listening to!

Your Instructor

Pascal is a world traveler and video creator, originally from Germany, currently based in Thailand.

When he started creating videos, it was quite hard as quality gear was very expensive or not existent.

Today the problem is no longer the gear, but finding the right one and learning how to use it properly. So he made it his mission to teach people how to create great looking videos with affordable cameras and gear.

FAQ

Is this course suitable for beginners?

Yes, I made this course for beginners.

If you already know a bit more about video shooting but you’re not satisfied with the results, this course can also help you to improve.

What cameras do you recommend for this course?

Let’s be honest. Gear matters to a certain degree. I generally recommend any camera that has some sort of inbuilt image stabilization. That can be digital-stabilization as it is on the Canon M6 mark ii or EOS R but even better is sensor-stabilization as cameras like the Panasonic GH5, Fujifilm X-T4 or X-S10 have it.

The camera should also allow you to use manual exposure settings.

Cameras that I can recommend:

Sony:

ZV-1, RX100 v, RX100 vi, RX100 vii
a6500 & a6600, ZV-E10
a7c, a7 iii, a7s ii, a7s iii, a7r ii, a7r iii, a7r iv, a9, a9 ii, a1

Fujifilm:

X-S10, X-T4, X-H1

Canon:

G7x ii
M50, M6 mark ii
EOS RP, R, R6, R5, R3

Panasonic:

GX85
G85, G95
GH5, G9
S5, S1, S1H

Olympus:

OM-D E-M1 ii, OM-D E-M1 iii
OM-D E-M5 ii, OM-D E-M5 iii

Nikon:

Z5
Z6, Z6 ii
Z7, Z7 ii

DJI:
Osmo Pocket, Pocket 2

Which video editor do you use?

I use Final Cut Pro and so my editing and color grading courses are done in Final Cut Pro.

You can download a free 90day trial of Final Cut Pro here: https://www.apple.com/final-cut-pro/trial/

However, the tools, and techniques that I use also work with DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere. You just find the tools in different places.

I recommend Final Cut tough as it’s by far the best performing editor and offers the fastest workflow for video creators. Time is money 😉

How is the payment handled?

The payment is handled by Teachable. You will be redirected to their website where you can pay via credit card and PayPal. After that, you will get an email with access to the course. It’s a one-time payment, no future fees.

“I viewed several of Pascal’s YouTube videos and became instantly engaged in his content. I then registered in one of the courses on his learning platform and again became so informed that I had to enroll in his entire “Learn with Pascal”package. This is a must-have platform of training to have access to–stop missing out!!!”

“This is a very helpful course. Especially the modules for shooting transitions and video editing were very helpful to me. I didn’t realize before, that it can make sense to do panning in every clip you shoot because maybe you can use it later for transitions. It was also very helpful for me how to put clips together, that they fit perfectly together. Even small things with maybe the steps from a person who is walking. Also, the video on how to do speed ramping was very well explained! I had a lot of problems with speed ramping before. But now, I think I understand it better and I am able to use it in my next video.”

“My wife and I are dedicated to improving our skills and Pascal’s courses have filled some critical gaps in our training. His modules dig deep where necessary, but the content is fun and interesting, in addition to being super easy to follow. Where other courses just scratch the surface across a broad range of modules, Pascal has effectively separated each discipline into affordable individual collections that truly make you a better creator. The content is worth 25x the cost. Can’t wait to continue working our way through his library!”

a ton of techniques that I learned from the course that only come with years of experience which Pascal has accumulated and shared with us here. The course is easy to follow and full of tips and tricks that do help in real-life situations

“I would recommend this course to anyone that’s looking to improve their videography skills or even someone who’s a total beginner and wish to learn.”

“If you’ve learned something or got inspiration from my YouTube tutorials, I’m sure that my courses will greatly benefit you.

I know from experience that it feels hard to invest in educational products instead of new camera gear. But one big reason of my success is that I constantly try to learn something new.

So by signing up for this course, you invest in something much more important than camera gear, which is YOU!”
